Food Safety Course (FSC) Level 2

Course Information

To equip food handlers of both retail and non-retail food establishments with the knowledge andskills to follow food safety and hygiene policies and procedures as well as inculcate the rationale ofsome of the practices into food handlers for better understanding and assisted policing in thelicensed food premises.
After attending the course, learners will be able to:

  • Identify physicaland chemical sourcesof food contamination, as well asnaturally occurring toxins
  • Understandmicroorganisms associatedwith foodborne illness and theirconditions for growth
  • Practise good personalhygiene by performing goodpersonal hygiene and PersonalProtective Equipment (PPEs)
  • Perform bestpractices when receiving,storing, checking, and preparingingredients
  • Handle food safely byrecognising best practicesin defrosting, preparing andtransporting food safely
  • Maintain cleanliness ofequipment and premises,manage waste properly, and conductfood safety and hygiene checks
  • Be able to speak, listen and read basic English
